I read this recently: “Good design is not about the aesthetic, it’s about the thinking. Design doesn’t matter if it doesn’t have a message.”

Coda, that is just so true! =)

  3. Vincent Says:

Collis and Cyan of FreelanceSwitch were recently interviewed. I found one of the things Collis said to be excellent words to follow. To paraphrase:

“Think of every job as the job by which your entire career will be judged.

Forget about the limitations of the job (e.g. their logo is ugly or the client has bad taste); instead, see the limitations as parameters in a problem that you are going to best.

Push yourself this way and you will do great work of which you will be proud.”

Actually, I wrote a blog post about it.
